Hello! And flowers.

Hi! Well, I certainly did not mean to let almost two weeks go by without a post but there ya have it. I’ve been busy. Ish. Work has been crazy, that’s for sure, so much so that I haven’t had the time to check all of my other blogs that I love, let alone comment on them. Oh, Barrett is back from his three week tour with Tool–yay! The house was really quiet and lonely without him. I started settling back into bachelorette ways, not cooking much or even grocery shopping. I spent the holiday weekend at Camas Meadows Lodge, playing gooseberry to Binulatti and Anacolulthic Shock (and another couple). I started jogging! I am quitting the gym. See, not much to write about, frankly, if I can sum up the last two weeks in one paragraph!

On one of those weekends, me sis Heather (check out her blog for the beginning of baby season at the rehab place!) came up to visit. We had a “Firefly” marathon and made a frittata with my new stainless steel cookware. She also brought her new camera with its awesome macro lens. And this was the result: the various flowers in my yard as of two weeks ago.

Gorgeous orange roses are finally in bloom:

This is a great view of the lupins, the pink flowers that appear on this one bush every year, and the pretty yellow flowers that sprung up from the kale I left out all winter!

I believe this is a gentian. It’s growing in the scrubby front yard area, with no help from me whatsoever.

Teeny flowers growing up from more stuff in the front yard.

By this time, I really should know the name of these eensy beautiful blue flowers that grow like weeds on the side yard but I forget every year! Anne, please tell me again.

Finally, this is indeed a mystery flower. It’s about the size of my palm. Anne or anyone, what is it?
