The weekend, finally
This has been a tough week for me, maybe the last couple of weeks really. Work is . . . not good, not good at all. I am currently seeking a new job and that’s just depressing. I never thought I would be going on interviews again after only a little over a year into my new employment. Forgive me for not going into details but if you knew what the details were, you’d be telling me to leave too. And because work has been so draining, I come home at nights completely unmotivated to do anything but curl up with a book on the couch and go to bed early. In fact, last night, I went to bed at midnight and slept until 10am. Ten hours! It’s almost unheard of for me. Oddly, though, it wasn’t so much sleep that I needed, but dreaming. My brain is on overload and I had the strangest dreams all night long. When I awoke at 8am and decided to get up, my brain literally put me back to sleep so it could continue my dream. I blame stress.
Anyhoo, Barrett is gone for the weekend–the band is playing one show in Denver tonight–and I’ve decided to get motivated. So I made a list and will cross each item off as I complete it.
- Buy feather toy for Trixie
- Go to Trader Joe’s & Safeway
- Vacuum
- Really clean bathroom thoroughly
- Mop kitchen & bathroom floors
- Do laundry
- Back up computer
- Elliptical trainer & weights
- Clean up backyard for winter
- Make big pot of soup or chili (salmon chowder, yum!)
- Clean microwave
- Trim bangs
I’ll keep crossing them off all weekend until the list is done. My goal is to do all of this before I go to the airport to fetch Barrett at 8pm tomorrow.
I apologize for my lapse in blogging. Please bear with me! And wish me luck on my interviews–I think I need it.
[Ed. note: it’s 7pm and I did almost everything on the list. Sorry, Trixie, maybe tomorrow!]
