The Westering Hills

WCB #64

Been awhile here since Westering Hills has participated in Weekend Cat Blogging. We sincerely apologize–it certainly isn’t for lack of cat-related activity! In order to solve the cats-eating-each-other’s-food problem, I’ve switched Colin to canned cat food, and by golly, it’s worked like a charm! Trixie won’t touch the stuff and therefore doesn’t steal his food anymore, and Colin is now so spoiled by the wet food, he doesn’t care for the dry.

However, the problem of Colin continuing to assert his dominance in the house by jumping on Trixie every possible minute has resulted in our poor beleaguered Trixabelle all gimped up on her right front leg. In order to give her a rest and let it heal, she’s been locked in the guest bedroom alone all week. We gave her The New Basket to assuage her, and thought it would be funny to replace it with The Old Basket for Colin. The result? Well, he can still sit up in it. . .

However, settling down for a nap in it is a different story altogether!

“I give up! I’m just too dang big!”

What the camera didn’t capture was the entire MINUTE he spent going ’round and ’round in a circle trying his best to curl up in the basket before giving up and setting his front legs out, while Barrett and I laughed our asses off. It’s for moments like this which I got a cat in the first place!

Go visit Masak-Masak for the rest of the Kitty Krew!

LOL at Colin’s antics to fit into the basket! Very cute esp the one where he managed to fit himself in. Glad to see you back and hope to see more of Colin and Trixie.

LOL!! Loved that! I’ll never understand why cats sleep in such tiny little things. Colin looks so handsome! I just want to kiss him on his forehead. Poor TrixiaBell!! I hope she gets better. I’ve actually had to give cats their own part of the house to prevent problems.

Great set of pictures! I especially love the third one with his front legs sticking out of the basket, ha, ha, ha!

I see that you have the same problems as us. Maruschka is possessed by food and tries to gobble Fridolin’s portion everytime we turn our backs and Mr.Fridolin always attacks Maruschka (when he’s in his “king of the house” trip), chases her out of the basket and “chews” her fur when he bites her neck… But they nonetheless love one another!

Hey Shannon, I tagged you for 5 Foods To Eat Before You Die. You always have such interesting things to say, so I hope you want to do it. But, that’s OK if you don’t!

LOL. Great story & photos about Colon. Love the tiny basket. I can envision the part about going round and round in circles trying to fit in the basket. They always seem to do this before they lay down. You make my best of WCB this weekend. Poor Trixie and her leg. I have the problem with 3 cats not getting along and have to separate them all the time.

I can imagine the whole scene and have to laugh. So cute. I have the same problem with food but Boots and Tess like the same stuff. I’m really having issues especially since Boots has to loose 2 lbs. It is going to be tough!!!

Hilarious. Big cat in a little basket…just hilarious! The fact that he’s stuffing himself in there is too much. This is indeed part of the reason to have animals in your life. They are simply too funny to go without.
