The Westering Hills

Eat Real Food Challenge, Day 9

Breakfast: piece of rye toast, banana, coffee with cream.

Lunch: bowl of seafood stew, piece of mozz cheese, the rest of the snap peas, and an orange. The green and orange colors on the plate was a very beautiful snack!

Dinner: I decided to break down and finally re-create the amazing grilled cheese sandwich I had a couple of months ago: bread buttered on both sides for the grill, sharp cheddar cheese, a bit of pesto, and sliced tomatoes. It was good but. . . it made me sick. I couldn’t finish it and I nearly threw up. It was much too rich. I felt bad the rest of the evening (still do!). Can being on a relatively low-key food regime for just eight days make my stomach not able to handle a grilled cheese sandwich that I had no problem wolfing down just a few months ago? It seems unlikely to me but there’s the facts. I won’t be eating that again any time soon.

Aww, my favorite sandwich made you sick! Maybe it was the butter? Or it could have been a coincidence.

I think it was just too rich for me. That’s the kind of sick it felt like, not food poisoning sick or anything. Ah well!

That is too bad. I’ve had that happen too, and it did seem to be because I was eating something too rich. Sometimes we can handle that and other times we can’t. I think you’re doing a great job. Each day I enjoy reading what you ate. Seafood stew. Yum!!!!!

Sounds like you’re detoxing yourself from the rich foods most of us eat so much of, and your body didn’t remember how to react.

PS: Have I mentioned yet how cool I think what you’re doing is? I have? Okay, moving on. :)
